Dinosaur Fever!! It's getting worse - with two new additions by Grandpa & Grandma Steiny Brigs is in heeeaven!
Actual Fever. I was hoping it was teeth, but I think it was a nice little bug. Brigs refused to take anything for it {the kid has a super sense of when sippys, jello, etc has been tampered with fever reducing medicine...it's going to drive me crazy!} All he wanted to do was sleep with Daddy. Can you tell that they are father & son?
Gigantic Cookie Fever. So I was asked to help with some cookies for a bridal shower. I knew that royal icing was going to be a part of it and I thought that even though Candace wasn't by my side I would be able to do it. I researched on royal icing and all of it's intricacies from meringue powder to piping I was *hoping* to be up to the challenge. After a pep-talk call from Candace that morning I felt confidant. Then the cookies came! 30 gigantic 5 inch cookies came to my door. I made the first batch of royal icing and failed - took a deep breath - made the second batch of icing and succeeded. Outlining. Filling. Tooth pics. Decorative lines. Pereles. And a second call from Candace & two good friends Rebecca & Christy and I was able to pump those babies out and be done by 11 pm. They turned out better than I feared. Royal icing is truely a royal pain, but the bride was thrilled and loved them.
Valentines Fever. We had the missionaries over for Valentines dinner and everything went really well.
The Menu: Rosemary bread (ala Macaroni Grill) with dipping spices (ala Carrabbas), Pioneer Woman's Penne Ala Betsy, Green Beans & Kale and for dessert Fried Ice Cream.
We ended the evening with the high school basketball game (oh so romantic) and me leaving early with Brigham because I was starting to have ....a fever.
Baby Fever. Ha, ha....I don't think so. But we welcomed our much-anticipated nephew Cole Brent Martin into the world on February 25th. With a being a week over due we were anxious and sooo happy that he's here. I can't wait to kiss those sweet little lips!!
